Grow Good News is Good News Hagerstown’s developing community garden hub—a coordinated network designed to support community gardens, youth environmental programs, pollinator projects, and neighborhood growing spaces across Hagerstown.
Rather than every school, neighborhood, or organization having to create a garden program alone, Grow Good News will help connect participating sites with shared resources, volunteers, education, transportation, donated materials, and practical support.
We envision a community where children can learn by planting seeds, families can help grow fresh food, pollinators can find safe habitats, and neighborhoods can come together around spaces that are healthy, productive, and beautiful.
Each participating garden or organization can maintain its own identity and leadership while benefiting from a larger support network coordinated by Good News Hagerstown.
As resources and partnerships grow, Grow Good News will work to provide:
Community gardens can do much more than produce vegetables. They can create safe places for neighbors to work together, introduce children to nature, improve access to healthy food, support pollinators, beautify overlooked spaces, and provide meaningful volunteer opportunities.
Grow Good News will help turn individual projects into a stronger and more sustainable community-wide effort.
We are currently building the partnerships, equipment, funding, and volunteer base needed to develop Grow Good News responsibly.
